Organic positioning: mistakes and successes at MercadoLibre

 

I took part in the Doppler Academy podcast, talking about the hits and misses of our organic positioning strategy and implementation of Long Tail keywords at MercadoLibre.

For the Doppler Academy’s fifth episode on Digital Marketing, I was invited to talk about my work at MercadoLibre, the largest e-commerce in Latin America in terms of visits and conversions. I discussed how Long Tail contributes to generating search results that meet user’s needs, thus bringing them closer to conversion and improving the company’s organic positioning.

MercadoLibre has over 6,000 searches per second, 120 million products listed and more than 33 million buyers worldwide. These are the results of an SEO job well done, for an e-commerce that currently has a presence in 18 countries, and in two languages ​​(Spanish and Portuguese). A strong strategy is required to appear among the first search results on Google during major commercial events like Black Friday, Cyber ​​Monday and Christmas.
