SEO for E-commerce with Richard Fenning

Gustavo Esteves, CEO of Métricas Boss and director of Ecommerce RJ, invited me to the Bate-papo sobre SEO para e-commerce podcast, to discuss e-commerce with professionals including Wallan Machado da Tenda, and Daniel Arend of Search Lab..

We spoke a little about how there are still not that many people working in SEO today, despite the growing importance of the sector. I said that, for me, a big issue is the technical complexity involved, and the fact that some people expect a ‘recipe’ for perfect SEO. There’s no such thing, the job takes time, and it’s a little tricky to get to grips with, so not everyone wants to invest in it.

We also addressed the importance of proper internal links, which will help Google to navigate and bestow authority – as the pages which receive the most links gain the most authority.

The participants also discussed basic On-page SEO and Off-page SEO strategies, as well as the options available to e-commerces that are just beginning to compete against established companies.
