SEOday 2018 with Richard Fenning

SEOday 2018 was the first regional SEO event, where we talked about increasing sales of products and services through the SEO expertise of digital industry leaders.

I started the event by talking a little bit about the company I worked for, Mercado Livre. What SEO optimizations have given you the current positioning and some information about the company, such as the following data:

  • Free Market is present in 18 countries;
  • On its platform are made 9 purchases per second;
  • It has more than 10 million sellers;
  • It has more than 127 million products listed;
  • And more than 4,000 stores listed;
  • 90% of its sales correspond to new products;
  • There are 6,000 searches per second.

I talked a little about agency, growth, customers, communication, positioning and user acquisition. Then I got into SEO: what it is, how people see it and how I see it. Next I gave some webmaster guidelines, how we trained: content, design, code and structure. In fact, the focus was the structure, the subfolders, and the subdomains. Google recommends devising a strategy that makes sense for your own website and your own users.
